Karachi — (PR March 4, 2024) NEEDS Online proudly provided support for the “GBFA Freelancing Bootcamp” hosted at the Commonality Center in Jiwani Scheme 33, in Karachi. The event, a collaborative effort between GB Freelancers Association – GBFA, Hunza-Gilgit Social Welfare Organization (HGWO), and the Student Aid Society Gulmit (SAS), aimed to empower aspiring freelancers with valuable insights and skills. The bootcamp attracted a substantial number of aspiring freelancers, both male and female, from Gilgit-Baltistan currently residing in Karachi. Internationally recognized and “Top Rated” freelancers from GBFA shared invaluable insights, delving into challenges, opportunities, and revealing secrets to success in the online freelancing industry. During the event, GBFA President and CEO NEEDS Online Ghulam Rehman emphasized the need for similar bootcamps for Karachi’s youth, highlighting the pivotal role HGWO, SAS, and other organizations can play in engaging the youth in legal and effective freelancing practices. HGWO President Karim Rozic expressed gratitude for the collaboration and conveyed plans to host similar camps in the future.

(PR December 7, 2023) We at Needs Online are excited to have collaborated as the technical partner of the two-day GBFA Freelancing Bootcamp at KIU Hunza Campus and the Community Centre Gulmit of District Hunza, Gilgit-Baltistan. Gilgit-Baltistan Freelancers Association – GBFA and the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme – AKRSP Pakistan jointly hosted the dynamic two-day Freelancing Bootcamp. Chief guest Suraiya Zaman, the Minister of Information Technology, praised GBFA’s efforts in engaging youth in the gig industry and reducing the unemployment rate in GB. She also acknowledged the contributions of AKRSP specially in women empowerment in the region. During the event, GBFA President and Founder of NEEDS Online Mr. Ghulam Rehman officially launched the GBFA Hunza chapter and appointed top-rated freelancer Nouman Karim as the head of GBFA in Hunza. The Bootcamps provided a valuable platform for numerous youths to engage with experienced freelancers, gaining insights from their journeys and exploring opportunities within the freelancing industry. Technical support for these Bootcamps was provided by the National Freelance Training Program, Business Incubation Center KIU KIU Hunza Campus, NEEDS Online, and Karakoram Area Development Organization Fozia Qazi, Program Manager for Work and Enterprise at AKRSP, highlighted their organization’s initiatives to empower youth and foster entrepreneurship and innovative skills in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral. Distinguished speakers at the event included the Director of KIU Hunza Campus, AKRSP Area Manager, Manager of KADO, Digital Hub Hunza, and other notable figures. GBFA President Ghulam Rehman expressed gratitude to AKRSP for their significant contributions to youth development and freelancing initiatives, he also acknowledged the support of technical partners in GBFA Freelancing BootCamp 2023.

The event served as a dynamic platform for hundreds of youths to engage with seasoned freelancers, extracting valuable lessons from their experiences and exploring the expansive possibilities within the freelancing industry. Organized by Gilgit-Baltistan Freelancers Association – GBFA the event was sponsored by the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme – AKRSP Pakistan and Meezan Bank Limited, and with technical support from the National Freelance Training Program, Business Incubation Center KIU, and NEEDS Online, the bootcamp aimed to empower the youth by providing them with valuable insights and practical knowledge. The event featured a distinguished lineup of accomplished digital entrepreneurs hosting stalls, offering a unique opportunity for young participants to gain insights into the transformation of products and services into successful digital ventures. (PR March 31, 2013) NEEDS Online in collaboration with the Information Technology Department. Gilgit-Baltistan successfully trained 35 young individuals on digital marketing and freelancing in Gilgit. The three months long project, which successfully completed today, aimed to equip the youth with trending soft skills to tap into the rapidly growing online job market. The training was conducted free of cost, and the participants were given practical training on the fundamentals of freelancing and how to create and market content using different digital platforms. The IT department has further plans to replicate this successful initiative in all districts of Gilgit-Baltistan. The objective is to ensure that more and more youth are trained in online freelancing, which will not only increase employment opportunities but also help in the development of the region’s economy.

Hailing from Gulmit, Upper Hunza, Mr. Rehman is founder and CEO of Needs Online Pvt. Ltd., a digital marketing and consulting company offering services globally. As part of the Government’s initiated National Freelance Training Program (NFTP), Rehman also teaches Digital Marketing at the Karakoram International University in Gilgit. “He keeps an eye on businesses of the future and encourages educated youth to become entrepreneurs and job creators rather than job seekers”, according to a report received.
